New Moon

Hey Everyone

As most of you know, the greatest movie in the world came out last Thursday. Yes, I’m talking about New Moon. I wont tell you about it, because almost everyone has heard of New Moon and Twilight and know that is about a vampire and a human girl who fall in love etc etc etc. Unfortunatly now my awesome New Moon countdown is now pretty much useless – but im keeping it up anyway, because its a great photo haha. Anyway I went to see it the first day it came out (unfortunatly not at the first screening) with three of my friends – Niki, Katie and Rachy (they all have blogs – look at my blog roll to visit them). We had the V-Max seats so it was even more awesome. But if you havent seen in I REALLY reccomend that you do!

New Zealand Choir Visit

Hey everyone!

Last week we had some visitors - a choir from Christchurch, New Zealand came over!  Every year we do an exchange with them. Last year we went over there, and this year they came to us and we always have lots of fun.I went last year and it was AWESOME. The kids that come over stay with the kids in the other choir. I hosted two billets this year, Leisha and Ashley, they were awesome. Each year, both choirs get together a groups of songs and add movements. The travelling choir usually performs at a couple different schools. This year, we went to Marriatville High School and Eden Hills. We also did a performance for the parents on Monday night, the night before they left. On Friday we all went to Clealand Wildlife Park! It was so cool. The best bit was hearing their songs. I recorded a couple of them. It was totally awesome. My favourites were Kote Rupu, Slipping Away and their Meddley.

Holidays!

Hey guys!

During the holidays I was lucky enough to go to Vietnam and Cambodia. It was really hot – probably around 35 degrees everyday. My favourite part of the trip was Halong Bay. We stayed for two nights on a junk boat and did some water activities like kayaking and swimming and we saw a fishing village. They had guard dogs! Cambodia was alright. We saw a lot of fancy temples. Tomb Raiders (with Angelina Jolie) was filmed in one of the ones we went into – Ankor Wat. That was the biggest one. I didnt like the temples very much. A couple were okay, but our guide talked WAY too much so it took forever just to do one room of a temple. I did a lot of shopping while I was there! Probably a bit too much… I took a lot of photos too. What did you do over the holidays? Did you do anything interesting?

Hey everyone!

Yesterday we got back from camp at El Shaddai in Wellington (not New Zealand!) I had a GREAT time! We did lots of activities – canoeing, archery, the earth ball, screen printing, orienteering, raft making, fishing, rock climbing, the vertical challenge, a giant swing and initiatives.  My favourite activity was canoeing. I was in a canoe with Rachy. We went onto the water and we had a massive water fight! One of the instructors, Paul, was freakishly strong and he splashed me with his paddle like 7 times. Then all the canoes lined up and we switched boats, and I ended up with Chad. At the end we all perposley capsized so we all got SOAKED!!! Then just after we got out of the canoes we had a huge thunderstorm, we we all froze, but we had to do raft making anyway. But it was SO AWESOME!!! I  liked most of the food, and my favourite meals were the nachos and the mousse!

Have you ever been on a school camp? If you have, did you like the meals? What were some of the activities you did?

New Zealand Choir

Hey everyone!

Yesterday the New Zealand Choir went to the festival of music to do a foyer concert and be and assisting artist at the festival. At the foyer concert we performed 5 songs from last year ((Barbara Ann, I Feel Good, Peppermint Twist, Take These Wings and Surf City), one ETM (Devil Gate Drive by Suzi Quatro),and 5 new songs (Rockin Robin, Scarbourugh Fair, Mowtown Medley, We go together – from Grease – and Black and White) . We all performed really well without very many mistakes. Then after the foyer concert all the year 6’s left and the year seven’s went onstage during the festival and performed Money, Money, Money by ABBA as an assisting artist. We all did really well again and I don’t think ANYONE made a mistake! Well done everyone!

Central Market!

Last Friday our class and our buddy class went to the central market for the day. We all had a great time, and I think everyones favourite part was the chocolate fountain! They also had the BEST lolly store, where we all spent lots of money! We went to the Asian food court for lunch and had to buy something from there. It sounded very busy (there was even an ABC tv crew!), it smelt like lots of yummy food – like chocolate!- and gross smelling fish, it felt crowded and stressful, because you might lose your group or something, it looks like lots of people serving and eating lots of good food and the best bit…it tasted like awesome food – lollies, chocolate, fruit, bread and Asian food!

ETM Team

On Tuesday, Mr Mac took 22 year 6/7’s Paringa to perform some ETM routines. We performed 7 – Devil Gate Drive, I’m a Believer, Stayin’ Alive, Last One Standing, In the Navy, Bow Wow and Candyman. One we finished, half their school stayed and we taught them I’m a Believer. Then they left, and the other half came back in and we taught them the same song. Eventually it was their lunchtime so we left and got to to to Hungry Jacks! It was soooo good and Hannah gave out the Lindt chocolates that Paringa had given us as a thank you for coming gift.  We all got special Hungry Jacks crowns  and went on the playground until Mr Mac Said we had to go back to school.

Everyone had an awesome time and it was great seeing Jane again!

Rugby Carnival

Last week on Friday, a girls and boys tackle rugby team went to Hackam and played in a tackle rugby carnival. It was an awesome day, with LOADS of injuries – ankles, knees, heads, even necks! Everyone got bruises, but had a great time. The girls came third, and just missed out on getting to the finals, by four points, and the boys came second. Even thought we didnt win, we all had a great time!

Hey everyone

Here’s a random question – if you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?
